Yew Tree Cottage has everything for a romantic break, come and enjoy this stylish and comfortable little romantic cottage. The cottage sits beside the River Usk in the gardens of the owner's house, in the village of Llangynidr. Just a few minutes walk down the lane is the village shop and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with its canal boats and locks. This is a great base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park. Alternatively sit on your private raised decking and enjoy the views down to the River Usk, stroll down to the water's edge or FISH for SALMON & TROUT. From the village of Llangynidr there are numerous opportunities for walking, cycling, exploring the local towns and experiencing the wide range of activities available nearby. The village has two pubs - The Coach and Horses a few minutes walk up the lane and a little further at the other end of the village The Red Lion - both pubs serving good food. Both Crickhowell and Brecon are within fifteen minutes drive.

Yew Tree Cottage has been stylishly decorated and furnished. The living accommodation is open-plan - there is a modern, hand-built, fitted kitchen with a combination microwave oven, halogen portable hob, griddle and grill. There is also a fridge with small freezer compartment. The integrated breakfast bar provides a dining area and the living area has a leather sofa, comfy chair and TV with DVD player, radio and CD player. This living area is light and bright with two sets of French doors.

A cottage that goes the extra mile

The owners of Yew Tree Cottage have thought of everything. On arrival the table is laid with a Welsh cheese ploughman's, welsh cakes and a bottle of wine - a lovely welcome. This little stone barn is packed with thoughtful touches and provides a thoroughly Welsh feel through the blankets, art work and nicknacks. The two sets of French doors mean that the property can be opened up on a nice day and the attractive decking, lawned and patio areas surrounding the property provide lovely spots to read the paper and enjoy the sunshine. The barn sits within the grounds of the owner's house and they are more than happy to suggest days out or good local walks.

Llangynidr, known for its 5 canal locks

Yew Tree Cottage sits on the banks of the River Usk on the outskirts of the small village of Llangynidr. This thriving little community has two good pubs, one of which, The Coach and Horses is just a few minutes walk away. The Monmouthshire and Brecon canal passes through five locks as it travels through this little village and is a wonderful setting from which to feed the ducks and swans or enjoy a quiet walk. Make sure that you take a boat ride to see the canal from a completely different perspective - the tow-paths provide miles of easy cycling too.

Perfect for fishing enthusiasts

With the River Usk at the bottom of your garden, Yew Tree Cottage is an ideal base for a fishing enthusiast. Pop out for a couple of hours in the morning or evening to enjoy the several hundred meters of river bank offering peaceful Trout and Salmon fishing. All fishing should be discussed in advance with the owner. For yet further fishing opportunities head over to the Gliffaes Hotel, just 2 miles away.

Discover Crickhowell

Crickhowell is a thriving market town nestled between the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons in one of the most beautiful valleys in the National Park. Visitors staying at Yew Tree Cottage are just 3 miles from the town. Explore Nicholls, the lovely department store with its range of clothes, footwear, stationary, jewellery, gifts, and home products and make sure you visit Webbs, a family run department store established in 1930. Drop into Number Eighteen, one of a number of great local coffee shops and then browse the art gallery and small boutique shops before lunching at the famous Bear Hotel, which dates back to 1432 and has won the 'Best Pub in Britain' award twice.
