Vinetree Cottage, Crickhowell

Brecon Beacons. Sleeps up to 2

Up a few steps to the entrance hall, around the back of our barn, this upstairs apartment feels intimate and cosy. Snuggled here, away from the world with views out towards the Sugar Loaf, it is the perfect spot to rest your legs after a day's walking. Vinetree Cottage is entered via a small flight of steps inside an entrance hall shared with the owner's small Pilates studio.

This former stable, nestled on the end of a picturesque courtyard, is the ideal bolt hole for couples wishing to explore this stunning part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are fantastic walks and mountain bike routes, from the doorstep, including Llangattock Enscarpment, Table Mountain and the Sugar Loaf.

For the less energetic there are gentle strolls along the nearby Brecon and Monmouth canal, an easy walk into Crickhowell for pubs and restaurants, the stunning River Usk is a great place to sit and while-away the hours watching for an elusive kingfisher flash past, for naturalists there is even a track close to the cottage where you can discover rare and protected plants species. Or, you could simply sit the courtyard and admire the panoramic views towards the Black Mountains.

The cottage itself offers a small, cosy and well equipped open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room. There are large windows making the most of the beautiful views and flooding the space with light. And when the sun goes down, you can switch out the lights, curl up on the comfy sofa and gaze at the incredible night skies!

The bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room.

Valley View Cottage is part of a small and attractive complex of holiday homes that were once the stables, barns and stores of Neuadd Farm. Some of the buildings date back to as early as the 1500s and all have a wealth of period character.

Guests have access to lockable storage for bikes, a shared laundry room with coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer and free Wifi. There is ample parking on the site.
