Bede's Cottage, named after the owner, is very close to Brecon Castle (now a hotel and restaurant), Brecon Cathedral and only a few minutes' walk to the town centre. It is built into the old town wall where the railway line used to run above the town. With a blue painted door this dear little terraced cottage is reached up a flight of stone steps, with a sunny terrace in front of the house to enjoy a cup of morning coffee or a glass of wine on a summers evening.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, hob, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge/freezer and small dining table.

The pretty bedroom with a double bed has views over the Honddu river that runs into The River Usk, the roofscapes of Brecon Town and the hills in the background.

Bede's Cottage, named after the owner and originally the name of a medieval Benedictine monk - The Venerable Bede; this is perfectly located, within a couple of minutes' walk of Brecon Town Centre with its many independent shops, with several excellent local butchers selling locally reared produce, a baker, in the market arcade is a good greengrocer and several good pubs and restaurants; all just a few minutes stroll over the river Honddu a tributary of The River Usk. There is a good cinema and Brecon Theatre down beside the Canal Basin has a very wide variety of visiting artists and performers. The Canal Basin is always busy - enjoy a Dragonfly Boat Cruise or just watch the gaily painted canal boats come and go. Enjoy a walk along the tow path, hire a mountain bike to try The Taff Trail Cycle Route, or visit Brecon's historic Cathedral and enjoy the walk along The Groves below The Cathedral and the River Honddu.
