This opens up a peaceful paced walk as it winds itself through the striking countryside of Mid Wales, and introduces the industrial heritage of the area with the World Heritage Site of Big Pit Museum and local iron works. You are ideally placed to explore the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) with its abundance of walking, cycling and pony trekking, or you can explore the thriving market town of Abergavenny, renowned for its local produce or perhaps take the opportunity to visit some renowned restaurants for a romantic meal, with restaurants, including ones with Michelin Stars being a short drive away. The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, fishing and local golf courses. A short drive will take you to either to the stunning mountain landscapes of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) or the meandering river of the Wye Valley. Slightly further afield, to the south, you have the cosmopolitan city of Cardiff with its vibrant waterfront, castle and Millennium Stadium; it is a truly diverse city which acts as a gateway to the sweeping sandy beaches of South Wales.
