Both the Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons National Park are within easy reach where you can walk the ancient oak woodlands of the Forest of Dean or enjoy the changing colours of the Wye Valley. For a little more adventure, there s the Brecon Beacons for mountain climbs, mountain biking and kayaking. Visit one of the many vibrant market towns where you can take advantage of the local produce at a farmers market, the closest being Monmouth with its ancient bridge and independent shops, and slightly further afield Chepstow, Abergavenny and Crickhowell. Enjoying a slightly elevated position within the fringes of an established apple orchard, The Applepip is a place where you can enjoy the sun setting over the Welsh mountains and is perfect for those who enjoy the outside life and don't mind being self sufficient and slightly off grid, (there is a composting wc). This eco shepherd s hut has been sympathetically finished and is well equipped for couples to enjoy. Offering an open plan living space warmed with a wood burner, a built in kitchen with an electric two ring hob, toaster, kettle and fridge for chilled produce. There is seating for two where you can relax whilst you take in the views and watch the chickens meander past. For dining, there s a fold away table. The built in double bed is raised and finished with soft linen and blankets. There is a shower room with a shower and composting WC. Outside you have a wooden decked area with a table and chairs, there is a fire pit where you can toast marshmallows whilst enjoying the dark skies and beyond is the orchard where you can enjoy produce from the mature fruit trees and eggs from the free roaming hens the fruit trees have pretty solar lights that light up when the sun goes down. There is off road parking for one car and bicycle storage.
