Take advantage of your close proximity to the superb 14th-century Mount Grace Priory and Gardens, where you can wander the vast grounds and soak up the rich heritage of the site. Walkers will delight at the easy access to the fantastic trails of The Cleveland Way and the Coast-to-Coast, where you can embark on a two-footed adventure. Take in some of the best sights in the area, the beautiful Yorkshire coast is a short drive away at Saltburn or Runswick bay, Whitby is also worth a visit too. If you can tear yourself away from the National Park, head over to Northallerton, where you will find the excellent 18-hole Romanby Golf & Country Club, the Northallerton Equestrian Centre and a wonderful selection of pubs and cafes for grabbing a quick bite! Just a little further is Thirsk, home to The World of James Herriot Museum which houses a re-created World War II air-raid shelter, the Thirsk Museum and the popular Thirsk Racecourse which hosts events throughout the year.
