Seagull Lodge, Runswick Bay

North York Moors. Sleeps up to 6

Nestled within The Pines at Runswick Bay holiday park, which rests peacefully beside the North Yorkshire coast in the fishing village of Runswick Bay is Seagull Lodge, a single-storey dwelling surrounded by picturesque countryside. This spacious lodge is ideal for a small family or group wanting to explore the delights of the North Yorkshire coastline, as well as the dramatic scenery of the North York Moors National Park. Head up the set of steps onto the wooden decking and enter the property into a bright and airy open-plan living space, boasting neutral hues and two sets of patio doors which open up onto the enclosed decking, where you can sit out with a glass of wine or an alfresco meal in the late afternoon sunshine. Cook up a treat for the rest of your group in the fully fitted kitchen, which now includes an air fryer. The kitchen offers plenty of storage space, plus worktop space for prepping ingredients, and dishwasher to take care of any washing up.Gather around the dining table and savour a home-cooked treat together, before retreating to the sitting room and reclining onto the sofa in front of the fireplace as you decide what film to watch on the TV. Get some rest in the master king-size double bedroom, which boasts a walk-in wardrobe for all of your belongings, a TV and an en-suite shower room, where you can prepare for each day. The twin bedroom also benefits from handy storage, as well as access to the stylish panelled bathroom suite. Explore the picturesque Runswick Bay and enjoy a stroll along the sand of its sheltered bay, backed by spectacular cliffs and incredible moorland, or perhaps dip your toes in the water and build some sandcastles on a summer's day. Walkers can also appreciate the coastal and moorland views on offer along the spectacular Cleveland Way. Nearby Staithes offers a host of eateries, quaint shops and a superb art gallery to peruse, while nine miles south along the coast brings you to the popular resort of Whitby and a host of attractions. Climb the 199 steps towards the ruins of its Gothic abbey - thought to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula - and soak up the tremendous coastal views from the top, then explore a network of cobbled streets, dotted with charming shops, pubs and eateries. Grab some delicious fish and chips and enjoy them on Whitby's iconic sandy beach, or hop on a boat tour to be in with a chance of spotting whales. Continue south along the coast towards Robin Hood's Bay, home of the National Trust's Old Coastguard Station, before making your way to the Victorian resort of Scarborough and be spoilt for choice by its two sandy beaches, imposing castle and family-friendly attractions, including Alpamare UK, SEA LIFE Scarborough and the stunning Japanese-inspired Peasholm Park. You won't be short of wonderful days out and the opportunity to make lasting memories with loved ones during your stay at Seagull Lodge.
