The property has open views from the balcony across the fields towards the sea, a beautifully crafted, cedar wood sauna, a contemporary bar and a cosy library with a large selection of books and old records. It is definitely an ideal home to return to after a day exploring the Outer Hebrides.

Head to the most northerly point of the Isle of Lewis where the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse proudly stands with its grassy banks and spectacular cliffs, it is a place not to be missed. Ness Heritage Centre takes you back in time with an impressive archive of documents, genealogical records and superb photographs. Visit the well-preserved Carloway Broch or the historic Callanish Stones.

The Outer Hebrides are known for their pristine white sandy beaches, magnificent sand dunes and turquoise waters. The famous 12th-century ’Lewis Chessmen’ were found at Uig Bay (a fabulous beach to explore) and the chessmen can be seen in Museum nan Eilean at Lews Castle in Stornoway, the main town on the island. The castle also has fabulous grounds, woodland walks, a café and gift shop. There is also a number of popular festivals which take place throughout the year including the very popular Hebridean Celtic Festival in July.

Outdoor activities include hill walking, surfing, fishing, golf, diving, sea kayaking and cycling. Boat trips can be arranged and offer a chance to spot whales and dolphins, or further afield discover the archipelago of St. Kilda, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With dramatic landscapes, spectacular sunsets and the opportunity on occasion to spot the Northern Lights, the Outer Hebrides provide a paradise for birdwatchers, artists and photographers. Without doubt you will have a truly unique holiday experience you won’t ever forget!

Dell beach is within walking distance through the family croft (owners can provide directions), with other beaches such as Port of Ness and Eoropie which boasts a popular play park, both approximately 4 miles away. Spòrsnis, in Lionel, is a large facility for sports, fitness and children’s activities with a soft play area and various other community resources. It also boasts the only 10-pin bowling alley in the Western Isles! Beach 1¼ miles. Shop and pub 1½ miles, restaurant 6 miles.
