Seaview, Northbay, Barra

Na h-Eileanan an Iar. Sleeps up to 6

Eriskay 9.3 miles. Overlooking a scattering of rocky shores, submerged in clear blue water, the magical wilderness of the remote Isle of Barra is captured perfectly by Seaview, settled near Northbay on the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Perfect for families or groups of adults, this single-storey renovated seaside cottage boasts amazing views and stunning wildlife right outside your window and of course a wonderful contemporary base for your highland adventure. White sand and breath-taking scenery welcome you to the ample off-road parking, allowing easy unpacking and a hint of the beautiful landscape surrounding the property. You will be drawn to the homely sitting room where you can put your feet up and enjoy a family games night, warmed by the electric fire stove that sits into a splendid slate fireplace, and a selection of sofas looking out over the bay. If you enjoyed the décor of the sitting room, you would love the fully furnished kitchen, a great place to indulge in local produce and cook up a storm, presenting your masterpiece upon the central dining table. With each bedroom sporting an en-suite shower room, there is no lack of opulence, and with each room styled to an individual accent colour, blue for the king-size, red for the double and purple for the twin, it is clear that time and effort has been put aside to focus on the little bits to make your stay enjoyable. Perhaps these properties most eye-catching factor is the garden, where you will find not only a lawn area, but a decking balcony with seating, giving a panoramic view of the bay that will captivate your adventurous side, whilst allowing you to sip your morning coffee as you watch otters and seals floating about in the bay. If you can take yourself away from the amazing views, then there is no shortage of wonder, with cycle tracks on long, quiet roads weaving through the beautiful countryside, past turquoise waters and sandy bays, perfect for afternoon walks, picnics and kayaking. The nearby town of Castlebay will offer you refreshments, with the Castlebay Bar, and a local convenience store, as well as the spectacular Kisimul Castle, submerged in water when the tide is in and adding a magical feel to the quaint seaside village, as well as an airport, with planes landing directly onto the sand! The wildlife of the island is equally as stunning, with the opportunity to see seals and otters in the bay, as well as boat trips to the now uninhabited Mingulay which has become a world-renowned nesting colony for sea birds. Get the ferry to Ardmhor or take an exiting flight from Glasgow to Castlebay, landing on the beach! Breath-taking scenery, small villages and magical historical sites, there is something for everyone to enjoy with a stay at Sea View. EPC Rating: Band F
