No smoking. Please note: There is a walled river, 15 metres from the property. . Teal Cottage is a pretty 17th century thatched cottage located in the heart of the East Devon village of Honiton.
Featuring traditional beamed ceilings, three cosy bedrooms, two bathrooms and off-road parking, this holiday home is the perfect base for exploring the Jurassic coastline, Blackdown Hills and surrounding countryside. As you enter the cottage you will head into the homely and inviting kitchen/diner which is well equipped with a Smeg gas range cooker, fridge/ freezer, under-counter freezer, microwave, wine fridge, washing machine and a tumble dryer. The dining table is a great spot for everyone to get together for a homecooked meal whilst planning your exciting week of adventures. Make your way into the living room which is furnished with comfortable seating and a TV with Freeview and an Amazon firestick. The flight of beautiful wooden stairs leads to the upper floor, with an en-suite double room to the left and the family bathroom straight ahead with a separate bath and shower cubicle. Two steps up are the other two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a single day bed and an extra single trundle bed which slides out from underneath. From the kitchen, walk round to the back of the cottage where there is a small seating area with a bistro table and chairs. A great spot for enjoying a mug of coffee in the morning sun.
Teal Cottage is located on the main high street in Honiton, a lively rural market town approximately 17 miles east from Exeter and 9 miles north from Sidmouth at the heart of the East Devon areas of outstanding natural beauty. With private parking behind the cottage, guests can easily leave the car for the day and take public transport to a range of local spots as a regular bus service goes past the cottage and the train station is just a 10-minute walk away. This is a great base to completely relax and unwind and for exploring the region, from the Blackdown Hills and woodlands to the cliffs and beaches of the Jurassic Coast. Walkers, hikers, horse riders, cyclists or wild swimmers are all catered for in this beautiful part of the country.
Discover the rolling countryside and moorlands, with easy access across the borders of Somerset and Dorset to experience the delights all three regions have to offer. Discover Dorset’s world heritage Jurassic coastline and Somerset’s famous bustling market towns. Spend your afternoons at any one of the nearby beaches, where you can enjoy some sunbathing, paddling or paddle boarding! While you’re there, you might as well take advantage and visit the charming Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seaton and Sidmouth. Located in Honiton, this cottage is by the sea. Lyme Bay Winery and Salcombe Hill Walk are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore East Devon and Blackdown Hills. The Donkey Sanctuary and Norman Lockyer Observatory are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including golfing.
