Driftwood Cottage is an enchanting thatched self-catering holiday cottage situated in Malborough, just outside of Salcombe.

Holiday Home Location 

This village provides a peaceful, picturesque setting, with various local amenities, including a village shop, petrol station, church, children’s play area and two popular pubs.

It is situated just a short drive from Salcombe and Kingsbridge and a similar distance away from the coast, offering a nearby selection of stunning beaches, with the closest being Hope Cove.

Holiday Home overview

This thatched holiday home cottage is full of charm and character, providing a warm, welcoming feel on arrival. It has been refurbished to a high standard in the last couple of years, with both a new kitchen and bathroom fitted to the abode and new carpets to the stairs and bedrooms in 2021.

It provides an ideal holiday base for up to four adults, with two small children, with the changeover day being a Friday.

The Devon holiday cottage is accessed directly from the road, with its own allocated parking park positioned close to the property.

Bedrooms

Driftwood Cottage has three bedrooms.

The first bedroom is light and airy, with a double bed, a dressing table and set of drawers.

The second bedroom has two single beds, along with a built-in wardrobe for storage.

The third bedroom has bespoke built-in bunk beds and is suitable for 2 young children. We recommend that it is only suitable for children under the age of 10 due to the size of the bunks.

All bed linen and towels are included in the abode rental cost (excluding beach towels).

Bathroom 

The bathroom is located on the ground floor at the back of the abode. This has recently been renovated, with a modern contemporary suite and stylish floor being added. It has a bath and power shower over the bath with a glass shower screen, together with a washbasin, a toilet and a heated towel rail.

Open plan living space

The main living space offers plenty of character, with a low ceiling, fabulous old beams and a welcoming log burner.

The lounge area has a sofa, chair and footstool, with a small side table. There is also a large TV for cosy evenings spent in front of the log burner.

A new stylish kitchen has recently been fitted which is both tasteful and in keeping with the cottage style of this holiday home.

There is ample space to enjoy breakfast and meals at this abode, gathered around the breakfast bar situated at the back of the lounge area. It provides a great place to gather and chat whilst other members of your holiday party are preparing supper.

The kitchen includes an oven, a hob, a microwave, a fridge with a freezer box and a dishwasher, together with plenty of storage and ample crockery and glasses.

At the back of the holiday home, there is a lobby and access to the back door. This lobby area includes a washing machine and tumble dryer discreetly housed out of sight.

Outside space 

This lovely holiday cottage benefits from outside space, situated a couple of minutes walk away from the backdoor in a tranquil spot. The garden area includes a large table and seating for up to four adults and two children, together with a BBQ – providing a great spot to enjoy some alfresco dining or enjoy some afternoon sun with a book.

Parking 

Off road parking is included for one vehicle in the allocated space just a short distance from the holiday cottage. Additional parking is available in the village if required.

Other information 

Wifi access is available throughout the holiday let. Modern electric storage heating is provided throughout the holiday home, with individual controls for each room.

One well behaved dog is permitted at this holiday home, subject to our simple dog rules and a small additional charge.

No smoking is permitted either inside or in the vicinity of Driftwood cottage. 

Please note that this holiday let has low ceilings due to being a thatched cottage and also had a set of steep stairs to the bedrooms.
