The area also offers Avon Wildlife Trust and Bleadoin Levels Nature Reserve. Walking is available on The Mendip Way and walkers/cyclists/hikers/birdwatchers etc are all welcome. Bleadon Hill, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is also located there. The community has a rich history because it is home to a Grade I listed church that was built in the fourteenth century. There is also evidence of mediaeval agricultural labour. Bleadon is situated along the River Axe, which was formerly a harbour. There are many worthwhile attractions around Bleadon, including Brean with its Animal Farm Adventure Park and Leisure Park and the well-known beach town of Weston-super-Mare.
