There is good walking on the East Mendip Way with links to West Mendip and other routes, with the cottage being 10 minutes from the Bath and West Showground. Further afield, the town of Shepton Mallet holds wonderful old architecture, a weekly market, plus a variety of shops, and pubs. Nearby are Longleat House, gardens and safari park and Glastonbury Tor to enjoy. Wells, with its magnificent cathedral, Bath and Stourhead are great cities to visit. For great days out, take a visit to Cheddar Gorge or Wookey Hole at any time of the year. Also for something different, take a trip to the beach resorts of North Somerset and Dorset for a great family day out. Whatever you decide to do, Leigh Holt makes a wonderful getaway at any time of the year.
