Close by, you'll find the sandy shores of Skinningrove Beach which is dog-friendly and perfect for walking, sandcastle building, and simply relaxing. Further along the coast you'll find Saltburn-by-the-Sea with another beautiful beach backed by cliffs and fishing from Saltburn Pier, along with Saltburn Gill Nature Reserve and Saltburn-by-the-Sea Golf Club. Meanwhile, travel south along the coast to the seaside town of Whitby, a popular spot where you can climb the iconic 199 Steps to the ruins of Whitby Abbey and panoramic views, choose from classic entertainments along the family-friendly Whitby Beach, and discover a local legend at Captain Cook Memorial Museum. Explore further afield to discover the picturesque fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay, and be sure to explore the idyllic landscapes of the North York Moors National Park.
