Cottage in North Yorkshire, Helmsley

North York Moors. Sleeps up to 5

A welcoming mid terrace cottage in historic Helmsley is a short 0.2 mile walk to the only market town in the North York Moors National Park. Turn left out the door and within moments you will be in the centre of the market square surrounded by independent shops, friendly pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. If your stay allows, visit the craft and food market which is held most Fridays. Visit the castle ruins and, just 1 mile down the track, Duncombe Park stately home where, in summer months, visitors can swim in the heated open air swimming pool. Explore the walking and cycling routes of both the Cleveland Way and Ebor Way, both starting in the town and heading towards the breath taking moors for fabulous scenery and wonderful wildlife. The celebrated city of York and Castle Howard are 24 miles and 13 miles away respectively and a trip to the stunning coastline is a great day out. This pretty stone cottage has an entrance that is tucked away down a private snickelway. Step inside to the entrance hall where you can kick off your walking boots after a day of exploring. This opens onto a spacious lounge/diner which is warmed with an open fire and features comfortable furniture where you can sit back and relax after a busy day. With the last reserves of energy, switch on the Smart TV and watch your favourite films. In the dining area, a table and chairs are set to the side and perfect for five to enjoy a hearty supper. If you have children, they can venture off independently to the additional seating area to play some games. The kitchen is situated to the rear of the cottage: light and airy with a country style, it comes complete with seating to keep the chef company and is well equipped including a range style electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and French doors leading to courtyard. When the day is done climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find three bedrooms: one double with a TV, a twin and a single, all with plenty of storage space for your necessities. Also on this floor is a shower room with a shower and WC. Outside you can enjoy the private south facing courtyard, where a table and chairs await for perfect al fresco dining. There is roadside parking subject to availability.
