This cosy annexe adjoining the owner’s bungalow provides lovely accommodation for two in north Devon, perfect for couples.. 2 steps to entrance.
All on the ground floor.
Living room:
With wood burner, Freeview TV, Nintendo Wii, selection of games, DVDs, board games, and books and wooden floor.
Kitchen/dining room: With electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tiled floor.
Bedroom: With double bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Welcome pack. Small enclosed courtyard with garden furniture. 3 dogs welcome, to be kept on lead at all times (horses on-site). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There is a pond in the owner’s garden, 10 yards from the property. There is a connecting door to owner’s home (locked on the guests side). No children.. A perfect choice for couples and their four legged friends. Sparrows Nest is a spacious annexe adjoining the owner’s bungalow and their small stables. Being just 2 miles from the Atlantic Highway makes exploring the stunning north Devon and north Cornish coast a breeze. There are many lovely coastal villages to explore including nearby Welcombe, Bucks Mills, Peppercombe, Clovelly with its donkey transport, and Hartland.
There are woodland walks close by as well as many hidden coves and dog friendly beaches to explore. Welcombe Mouth beach, 5 miles away, is a stunning remote sand and shingle beach allowing dogs all year round. Steps lead from the clifftop car park to the beach and the South West Coast Path is signposted from the car park, giving you great dog walks in either direction. Just a short drive away is the tiny clifftop hamlet of Bucks Mills, a beautiful north Devon village with pretty whitewashed cottages speckled along a wooded valley at the end of a no through road.
The delightful north Devon village of Bradworthy with its historic church, thriving inn and good selection of village shops is just 3½ miles away. Nearby Bideford has restaurants and town amenities, along with boat trips to Lundy Island, or bike hire allowing you to explore the Tarka Trail. Royal Horticultural Society Rosemoor Gardens, Docton Mill and Hartland Quay are well worth a visit and there are numerous National Trust properties in the area.
The wide, golden sands of Sandymouth are just 9 miles away, and Bude and Widemouth Bay are 12 miles away, both with excellent surfing, pretty coves and dramatic coastal walks. Bude’s vibrant town centre has a vast array of good restaurants and bars, along with glorious sandy beaches and stunning coastal and canal walks. The two Tamar Lakes are 6 miles away where you can enjoy coarse and trout fishing, sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and lovely lakeside walks. Golf, surfing, water sports, mountain boarding, fishing and horse riding are all on offer nearby Sparrows Nest. Shop 3½ miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 2 miles.
