Oaktree Cottage, Crickhowell

Brecon Beacons. Sleeps up to 6

The Neuadd was originally one of the principle farms for the Beaufort Estate. The original house dates back to the 16th century and is set in approximately 5 acres. The Neuadd is located in an idyllic tranquil spot at the foot of Llangattock Mountain, whilst still being adjacent to all amenities. Each cottage has picture postcard views.

Oak Tree Cottage (3 bed, sleeps 6)

This lovely old stable building in the friendly village of Llangattock is named after the incredible 450-year-old oak tree that stands just outside it. The knotty trunk and gnarled boughs can be seen from the kitchen and bedroom windows and previous guests have enjoyed watching birds nesting among the branches!

Oak Tree Cottage boasts glorious views of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park countryside yet is an easy walk from the little town of Crickhowell, with its pubs, restaurants and shops.

For the more adventurous, there are some of the best mountain biking and walking routes from the door, including the rugged Llangattock Escarpment, the Sugar Loaf and Table Mountain.

This beautiful area is renowned for its rare and interesting plant life and nature lovers will also enjoy spotting the birds and mammals attracted by the River Usk and the Monmouth and Brecon Canal which are both nearby.

Inside, Oak Tree Cottage has a lovely, welcoming living space with large windows, flooding the area with light. There is a small but well equipped kitchen and cosy dining area and the comfy sofas are the perfect place to put your feet up after a day's exploring.

There is a handy utility area - great for storing those muddy walking boots, and an attractive downstairs shower room.

Upstairs, there are three good sized bedrooms, each full of character with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and lovely solid furniture, and a family bathroom.

Bedroom 1 - King-Size Bedroom

Bedroom 2 - Twin Bedroom

Bedroom 3 - Twin Bedroom

Downstairs shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin

Family bathroom with bath with shower over, toilet, and hand basin

Oak Tree Cottage is part of a small and attractive complex of holiday homes that were once the stables, barns and stores of Neuadd Farm. Some of the buildings date back to as early as the 1500s and all have a wealth of period character.

Guests have access to lockable storage for bikes, a shared laundry room with coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer and free Wifi. There is ample parking on the site and well-behaved dogs are welcome.
