Glyn Cottage is a charming holiday cottage in an outstanding spot. Glyn Cottage sleeps 6 people (with 2 additional double en-suite rooms available by arrangement) in a converted Welsh Longhouse. Glyn Cottage is relaxing and rural with views of the valley, but is just 9 miles from the M4 and a mile from the local supermarkets.

Families and groups love this holiday home. It's beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped. There is an enclosed garden which is perfect for children, a patio with good quality garden furniture and a BBQ. There is plenty to do nearby. You can walk to the local pub, The Tredegar Arms. Within 15 minutes' drive are the Henrhyd Waterfalls (famed as the entrance to the Bat Cave in the blockbuster film, Batman: When the Dark Knight Rises) and the popular National Showcaves for Wales with its enormous cave system and dinosaurs. The Gower Coastline is just 30 minutes away with its sandy beaches, wildlife and the surfing.

Glyn Cottage has been awarded a High Commendation as Finalist in the category Best Self Catering Accommodation by Swansea Bay Tourism Awards 2014.

The Accommodation

Sleeps 6 - 2 Doubles 1 Twin

The kitchen is well designed with a large electric Range Master cooker with a ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and a freezer. The dining area has a long mahogany dining table and chairs and matching sideboard. A spacious utility room has the washing machine, tumble dryer and oil central heating boiler and room for drying coats and boots.

The sitting room is light and spacious with French doors opening out onto a sunny patio area with lovely views across the valley. It has a large screen TV with freeview package, DVD and CD and a wood-burning stove set in a stone fireplace.

Up a flight of wooden stairs to three luxurious bedrooms:

Bedroom 1: A very pretty room with a double bed with views out over the valley and an en-suite shower room with hand basin and toilet.

Bedroom 2: A second lovely double bedroom with a black wrought iron bed and striking black and white furnishings.

Bedroom 3: This bright bedroom has twin beds with floral fabrics.

Bathroom: Whirlpool bath, heated towel rail, an Italian free-standing hand basin and toilet.

Close by:

A very pretty woodland wildlife pond (securely fenced for child safety) and a pleasant pub are within walking distance. The Palleg Golf Course is 3 fields over or a short drive, and there are numerous walks from the front door.

Cwm Clydach RSPB reserve is a wonderful place to see all sorts of rare wildlife and the riverside and woodland walks are lovely.

The breathtaking Porth-yr-Ogof (or 'gateway to the cave') caves which boasts Wales' largest cave opening and is an excellent place to learn more about caving and perhaps give it a try yourself.

Henrhyd Falls and Aberdulais Falls are both worth a visit. The falls themselves are stunning and make sure you visit the National Trust Aberdulais Tin Works.

Within half an hour:

Glyn Cottage is well placed to offer an excellent all-round experience of Wales. The wonderful Gower Coast is just 20 miles away and offers a huge number of beautifully clean, sandy beaches.

Mumbles, the delightful Victorian seaside resort is only 40 minutes' drive away and has a fantastic pier, harbour and beaches to explore - the boutique shops there are also good.

Inland, and just 15 miles in the other direction is Pen-y-Fan, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons National Park and a central point from which walkers and climbers can explore the Beacons. Glyn Cottage itself is surrounded by a mixture of woodland and pleasant valleys; a holiday here gives you a true flavour of Wales!

Ystradgynlais 2 miles, Brecon 20 miles. 9 miles from the M4. 1 1/4 hr from the Seven Bridge.
