Clog Fawr (named after the large rock on the hillside above the cottage) is set in the most glorious remote location close to the head of the stunningly beautiful Dyffryn Crawnon Valley. The cottage has views up to the Brecon Beacons and down to The Black Mountains. The owner is very happy for visitors to bring dogs, the garden is fully enclosed and there are many walks from the door and close to mountain bike trails (Taff Trail just over the hill) and a Nature Reserve 20 minutes stroll up the lane at the end of the valley.
The cottage has been very recently completely renovated (2016/7) in a contemporary style also ensuring it is warm and comfortable, with excellent new beds and linen and good quality furnishing.

From the cottage which is exceptionally well kept, there really are the most glorious views, in Bluebell time the hillside above the cottage is covered in a carpet of blue. The owners who live in the farm house a few fields below own a few horses that usually graze peacefully in the pastures below the house. They also breed Black Welsh Mountain sheep that make a pretty picture dotting the fields. There are a couple of pigs called Mustard and Pepper that live in the wood and white doves are often seen flying across the valley.
Clog Fawr Cottage is three miles along the very picturesque Duffryn Crawnon Valley up from the attractive village of Llangynidr with two pubs, The Coach and Horses and The Red Lion both serving food. There is The Walnut Tree Stores and Cafe, a garage and a post office. The Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal runs through the centre of the village – the tow path offers a flat walk passing locks and the traditionally painted canal boats. The River Usk has Trout & Salmon Fishing in season, for details go to Wye & Usk Foundation. The river is also a feature of the village with its' very narrow early 18th century river bridge – probably not for nervous drivers!
Llangynidr 3 miles, Crickhowell 7 miles, Brecon 12 miles, Abergavenny and the closest railway station is 12 miles, Merthyr Tydfil 30 minutes' drive, Cardiff, Swansea and Bristol are all just over an hour's drive
