The RSPB reserve at Balranald is only a short drive away from the cottage where you can enjoy looking for the corncrake or walking on the flower carpeted machair. Whales and basking sharks visit in the summer and can be seen regularly off shore around the islands. The Outdoor Activity Centre is just five minutes away and offers a wide range of activities such as sea kayaking, diving and boat trips to the Monach Isles and St Kilda. Those who love to fish can enjoy sea and loch fishing which is available locally (licence required).
