Newly renovated, Machair Cottage boasts an abundance of views across the rugged landscape as you park your car off-road and enter the property. Welcomed by a spacious sitting area with a tartan rug in keeping with the feel of the highlands, spend a moment reflecting on the adventures of your day with a generous woodburning stove keeping you warm, before making your way over to the kitchen/diner, a spacious area contemporarily decorated and with matching white furniture, this space will inspire any budding chef to whip up a treat for the family, serving it on a presentable glass dining table. The nearby town of Lochmaddy will be the perfect stop when you require a cooked dinner at one of the local pubs and restaurants, whilst taking in the beautiful seaport that can provide a ferry over to the mainland. You can also take a day trip down to South Uist, through Benbecula, where there is a variety of stunning sandy beaches and amazing wildlife just waiting for you to explore. You may also be able to enjoy the machair flowers scattered across the island in the spring and summer, the cottages namesake and a beautiful sight for any guest. Lose yourself in the wilderness of North Uist with a stay at Machair Cottage. The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Lochmaddy, or Oban to Lochboisdale.
