At Llyn Clywedog Reservoir there are handfuls of walks for a stroll or the keen walker, also a Sailing Club & one of the top UK Trout Fisheries. The nearby Hafren Forest, that is home to the source of the River Severn. An amazing walk to the start off the famous River that is known as the longest in the UK & it starts in the hills above Llanidloes. Machynlleth and the coastal town of Aberystwyth are a short drive away. Alternatively, walk along the River Severn in Hafren Forest or explore the Cambrian Mountains. You are ideally placed to explore a wonderful variety of countryside; within 30 miles you can be enjoying the beaches of Cardigan Bay, exploring the Snowdonia Mountain Range, visiting the stunning Elan Valley or walking the undulating hills and visiting the historic towns in the Shropshire Hills AONB. Powis Castle is just 30 miles away, an imposing National Trust property near Welshpool.
