Delightful character property with lovely country views
The cottage is situated in the small hillside village of Goodleigh on the edge of the Exmoor National Park and surrounded by rolling hills and wooded valleys. This small thriving village is an ideal location to experience the peace and tranquillity of rural village life with wonderful walks surrounding the village (including the Millenium Wood) and the village Inn serving local ales, good food and takeways closeby. There is a wealth of activities available within a short scenic drive. Whether your choice is to enjoy the shopping facilities in the market town of Barnstaple just 3 miles south, spend days surfing off the picturesque beach resorts of Saunton, Croyde or Woolacombe which is only 20 minutes drive away or explore the splendour of Exmoor with its deeply cut river valleys spectacular moorland and pictureque coastal villages such as Lynton and Lymouth there is plenty to do for both young and the young at heart.
The cottage is steeped in history and retains much of its original character with beams, low thresholds and original stonework. The accommodation is well equipped and very comfortably furnished in mainly cottage style throughout. Four attractive bedrooms all with lovely country views - Three doubles and twin bedded. Bathroom/wc with separate shower cubicle on the first floor and ground floor shower room/wc. Very comfortable beamed living room with feature stone wall, woodburner in small inglenook fireplace, comfy seating for six, TV, and DVD. Separate dining room with comfy seating for 2/3, piano, TV, CD player, large dining table for eight and Aga on constantly to provide hot plates, oven, and hot water. Small country style kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and stable door leading to patio and garden. Large utility area with fridge/freezer, washing machine and plenty of storage for surfboards, beach equipment etc. Good size hallway with space for coats etc, and open plan stairs to first floor. Large fully enclosed delightful cottage garden with mature borders, small lawns, two patio areas with garden furniture to enjoy morning and evening sunshine and the wonderful country views surrounding the property. Road side parking available adjacent.
