On street parking (evenings only); Additional public car park, at cost. No smoking. . Sixpence Cottage is a cosy cottage located in the heart of the seaside town of Exmouth. This quaint cottage is the perfect base to enjoy a relaxing break. On entering the Cottage, you will be welcomed into the living room which is tastefully furnished with a wood burning effect electric fire, Smart TV, an Amazon echo speaker, a reclining armchair and a comfortable double sofa bed. The kitchen is well-equipped with a breakfast bar, electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and coffee machine. Upstairs you will find the bedroom with a double bed, modern bathroom with a shower over the bath, toilet and sink, a utility cupboard containing washing machine, airer, iron and ironing board and a door leading to the private decked roof terrace – a perfect little sun trap where you can sit and unwind and enjoy Al Fresco dining.

Exmouth’s Blue flag beach offers excellent water sports facilities. From the town you can hop on an open top bus to see the sights or from the Marina you can take a ferry over to Starcross, enjoy coastal and estuary cruises or take a fishing trip. The Exe Estuary is a nature reserve and home to over 20,000 migratory birds, the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and famous red sandstone cliffs of Orcombe Point are located at the eastern end of the beach. Slightly inland you are welcomed by the beautiful, pebbled heathlands of East Devon which offers extensive walks, abundant wildlife, rare plants, and splendid panoramic views. Dartmoor National Park with is just stone’s throw away as are the beautiful East Devon coastal towns and villages of Budleigh Salterton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth and Seaton. Popular attractions include Crealey Park, Bicton Botanical Gardens and Arena and the World of Country Life. Exmouth hosts a number of free events throughout the year including music festivals and concerts.

The seafront offers a perfect venue where you can sit and watch the world go by, stroll, or take part in a park run or enjoy the weekly Sunday live music that can be found in the many pubs dotted around the town within easy walking distance of Sixpence. A perfect base where you are only a small train ride away from Exeter where you can wander around the city, take in the sights, visit the cathedral, exploring the Underground Passages, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Exeter Castle or just enjoy a spot of lunch. The stunning grounds of Powderham Castle are not far away.

You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit to Sixpence Cottage and you will certainly want to stay time and time again! There is free on-street parking outside (from 6pm to 8am the next day) which is first come first served basis or a pay & display public car park nearby which is free after 6pm until 8am the next day.
