The Shambles is the most historic and well known street in York, bursting with a rich history through the ages, adjoining is Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate the shortest street with the longest name and great for a photo opportunity. Just across the road is the Golden Fleece the most haunted pub in York. You'll be spoilt for choice from independent shops like The Yorkshire Ghost Merchants, York Gin to high street retailers such as M&S, H&M & Zara just to name a few.

If you'd prefer to sight see around York, take a walk on the city walls and visit one of our 365 pubs. Cliffords Tower, York Art Gallery, Jorvik museum are all well worth a visit. The York Dungeon is only a short walk away for those looking for a gruesome experience.

Getting Around:
There are plenty of Taxis in the City with a taxi rank on St Saviourgate just a few strides away. The York City Sightseeing bus is a great way to tour famous landmarks while having a comfy seat. The train station is a 20 minute walk away. The best way to discover all there is to offer is by foot, down tiny side streets and cobble laid pathways.

Other Things to Note:
York has a plethora of fantastic high end restaurants, in most cases you will need to pre book but our recommendation is for a special occasion Skosh (Michelin guide) and Roots (Michelin star) are a once in lifetime experience.

This apartment is located in York. Jorvik DIG and Yearsley Pool are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Rawcliffe Country Park and Howardian Hills. York Dungeon and Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland are also worth visiting.
