The master bedroom enjoys an elegant ambiance and an en-suite shower room, whilst the two other king-size bedrooms enjoy a more traditional feel and are served by a sleek family bathroom. Continuing to impress is the garden area, where a pergola frames table and chairs, creating a superb alfresco dining spot and the spacious lawn area is great for soaking up the sunshine. Within the garden, you will also be delighted to find a small vegetable garden and a greenhouse, which you are welcomed to take from whilst rustling up your own home-cooked meal. Explore the friendly community of Melkinthorpe, where you will find the Larch Cottage Nurseries, which incorporates the Red Barn Gallery along with a cafe and restaurant. Alternatively, head to the nearby village of Askham, a charming base, which features two pubs, the Michelin starred Askham Hall and a shop for picking up the essentials. Slightly further afield is the town of Penrith, home to five major supermarkets, catering to all budgets and many pubs and restaurants offering a very wide range of food and drink. Moreover, the cottage itself lies in the Eden Valley, which is characterised by rich farmland, extensive woodland and meandering becks and rivers, and has numerous footpaths in the immediate area. Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted to find the popular fell of Hellvelyn, which dominates the enchanting Ullswater, home to opportunities for sailing, fishing, sailboarding and kayaking, as well as the Ullswater steamers, which departs from Pooley Bridge. Other attractions within the surrounding area include the historic Brougham Castle, the stone circles of Long Meg and her Daughters, Lacy's Caves and the town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, famous for its annual Horse Fair. Yew Tree promises to be an action-packed holiday, that a family of all ages and tastes will enjoy.
