This characterful original farmhouse, rests on the site of the second largest Fort on Hadrian's Wall in the little hamlet of Bowness on Solway. Wrapped in fine detail and boasting three bedrooms; this cottage is perfect for families looking for an all round peaceful escape. Wander into the magnificent hallway, home to a wooden arch which sets the tone on arrival. Across the way, a sitting room hosts leather seating, and an inglenook fireplace with a woodburner. In the evening you can cosy up in the warmth and read a good book amongst it all. The dining room makes a charming place to sit down with your loved ones under wooden beams and next to the electric woodburner-effect fire. The well-equipped kitchen is pretty and homely, fitted with dark wood units and cream marble effect counter tops, ideal for baking in the afternoon, or preparing breakfast in the morning time. Take the stairs up to two double bedrooms, one overlooked by a Velux window and elevated by sloped ceilings, whilst the second comes complete with a small two seater sofa. To the front of the cottage is a small paved sunny garden, where you can unwind on the bench and embrace some 'me time'. Bowness on Solway offers much to admire, being home to a pub and a tea room, whilst Hadrian’s Wall stretches from the village to Wallsend. The Victorian seaside resort of Silloth is 16 miles away, whilst Keswick and the heart of the Lake District are easily reached by car. Make the most of this desirable getaway.
