2 mins drive from The Gate shop/ cafe in Bwlch and there is an excellent very welcoming village pub called The New Inn serving home cooked food. Approximately a 20 minute walk from the barn.

Only a 5 minute drive to Llangorse where there are two village pubs, The Red Lion and The Castle Inn - again both doing good food.

Distances from the Barn: Brecon 8 miles, Crickhowell 6 miles, Abergavenny 12 miles, Hay-on-Wye 15 miles, Swansea 53 miles, Cardiff 40 miles, Severn Bridge 37 miles.

A public bridleway and footpath runs through the farm and past the barn leading directly up to Myndd Llangorse, Llangorse Mountain and with the most stunning views over Llangorse Lake and beyond.

Do not be surprised to hear deer or see deer grazing on the hill up there as there is a nearby Venison Centre. Another lane leads on down to the footpath up to The Allt - a fairly easy walk again with wonderful views over the mountains.

The picturesque and haven for nature lovers Llangorse Lake is only a short drive when visitors can hire a boat or fish.

The nearest village Bwlch (meaning mountain pass) - is notoriously difficult to pronounce (try Boolk or boolch) - always a joke with visitors. Bwlch is really right at the heart of The Brecon Beacons National Park and this glorious comfortable and luxurious barn is the perfect place to stay whether for a relaxing weekend or a rather more "activity based" holiday with friends and family.
