A superb and truly remote traditional stone Welsh longhouse holiday cottage where it is possible that your only neighbours will be some grazing Welsh mountain ponies in the next field. There are the most stunning views across the Brecon Beacons National Park over to Pen y Fan and Corn Du.

This is the perfect place to relax and unwind by tucking yourself away for total peace and tranquillity. We cannot guarantee silence as wildlife abounds around! The cottage is completely surrounded by organic farmland with streams and wildlife pools close by.

Accommodation

Sleeps 5 + 1 in three bedrooms and two bathrooms:

A wide entrance hall with slate tiled floor leading toa new large downstairs wet room with a shower, a disabled toilet, heated towel rail and slate floor.

The newly installed country style kitchen has a flag stone floor with an electric cooker and hob, a microwave, fridge, freezer and a dishwasher.

Washing machine and tumble dryer in a linked barn.

The kitchen leads into a good-sized dining area which has a beautiful long oak dining table, Welsh dresser and a range traditional furniture. To the end of this room is a cosy 'cwtch' with comfy sofa and views across pools and farmland to the Brecon Beacons.

The very spacious sitting room has a large inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove, an oak floor and again with some lovely period pieces of furniture. Comfy sofas and chairs provide a perfect place to relax. TV with Free Sat

Leading off the sitting room is the sunny garden room with French doors out to the sheltered enclosed garden at the back of the cottage where there is a BBQ and garden table and chairs.

Upstairs to the three bedrooms:

Bedroom 1: Looking out across the farm has a double bed, cot bed and traditional furniture.

Bedroom 2: Single plus one

Bedroom 3: Twin beds

The shower room has a shower, hand basin and toilet.

Organic pork, beef, lamb and eggs are available during your stay along with various locally made vegetarian options, homemade ready meals and vegetables in season.

The family run organic hill farm surrounding the cottage has sheep, cattle, free range pigs and laying hens. Also to be spotted in the fields are traditional Welsh mountain ponies and visitors can bring their own horse or pony on holiday (on discussion).If you fancy walking Jacob sheep this is the place to do it, book now!

The 220 acre farm is a mixture of pasture and woodland providing an unspoilt landscape leading directly up onto the Black Mountain and the Fforest Fawr Geopark.

Fishing may be arranged locally as can bike hire, with several routes from the farm. Nature abounds; deer may be spotted wandering over the nearby fields and forestry and there are many birds including red kites and buzzards soaring above the cottage and with plenty of wild fowl on the neighbouring ponds.

This is a wild, untamed and pretty remote area of The Brecon Beacons National Park with scattered hill farms.

Just down the lanes you can reach Dan-yr-Ogof Caves and the most impressive Waterfall Country. This is a good area to stay if you want to explore a little further afield it is easy to reach The Swansea Valley and then the glorious beaches of The Mumbles and The Gower Coastline. Drive up into Mid Wales to explore the Spa Towns of Llanwrtyd Wells, Llangammach Wells and Builth Wells (home of The Royal Welsh Show) and The Elan Valley, or explore further west to the amazing ancient Carreg Cennen Castle a must for families with children. Llandeilo and Carmarthen with the impressive gardens at Aberglasney or The National Botanical Gardens of Wales. A bit further on to Pembrokeshire and the many beaches there all within a day visit.
