Please note: There are 10 steps in the garden (alternative access by gentle slope).. Set in the owner’s spacious grounds, this is a charming property and forms a wing of the main house, allegedly the last mansion house to be built in Scotland. At this very private and peaceful location, guests can enjoy the beautiful grounds and maybe even a fresh egg from the free range hens! The rooms are airy and bright and one of the beds can be made up either as twin or super kingsize, depending on your requirements. There is a lovely sunny area of the garden exclusively for guests’ use and the sitting area at the front of the cottage is ideal for morning coffee in the sun. Fabulous walks are from the doorstep, and the Den of Alyth is at the bottom of the drive, a well-known beauty spot.
The Cateran Trail is a must for serious walkers, and golfers can enjoy a round at several courses nearby, including the championship course at Rosemount in Blairgowrie. Cyclists will enjoy meandering along the lovely country lanes in the vicinity or a visit to Alyth Bike Park nearby, with multiple trails and a Pump Track designed for all standards of mountain bikers.
The area is well known for its rolling countryside and soft fruit production, so in the summer months be sure to sample local jams and cream teas at the many tea rooms and cafés in the area. Alyth is 1 mile away and is an easy walk or a short drive, with local shops and other facilities, whilst the fair city of Perth is just 22 miles away, known for its culture, shopping and leisure facilities. Visit Pitlochry, with its famous fish ladder and festival theatre, Dundee for Discovery Point and the V&A, or for a full day out visit Edinburgh, home of the famous festival. Beach 22 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
