Just a short distance away is Glenshee snowsports, which is spread over three valleys, with pistes to suit all levels, from beginners to experienced skiers and snowboarders,daily passes and lessons are available. Strathardle Valley offers outstanding views and is rich in history; see sites of Bronze Age roundhouses, the Whitefield Castle ruins, and remnants of numerous farming settlements. The Cateran Trail, a fully waymarked 64-mile circular route, runs through the glen following ancient paths and the footsteps of cattle-rustlers. Wild swimmers will also enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool waters of the River Ardle. For adventures further afield, the breath-taking Cairngorms National Park and Glenshee are only a brief car journey away, with plenty of options for hiking, cycling, skiing, wild swimming, and wildlife within both locations.
