The local village of Gilfach is around ¼ mile away and it has shops and a pub. For those wanting more retail therapy, Bridgend is 7 miles away and has an abundance of shops including the designer outlet shopping centre, which is a must for bargain hunters.
There is plenty to do and see in the area. Great walks can be had at Kenfig National Nature Reserve, where you can walk across the dunes and take in the wildlife surrounding the area. For those looking for a bit of history, head to Coity Castle as it is a great day out for all ages. After a day exploring you can come back and relax at this property, then watch the sunset over the rolling hills. Beach 12¾ miles. Shop and pub ¼ mile, restaurant 3 miles.
