Buttercup Granary, Brecon

Brecon Beacons. Sleeps up to 4

Buttercup Granary is part of the original old farmhouse at the pretty Dan-y-Crug Farm, set in the rolling valleys of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This is a great spot for enjoying the outdoors whether by driving around our very quiet country road, (a traffic jam might mean a school bus and a tractor!), or walking on the many footpaths and bridleways. Enjoy the hills and take to a horse - try pony trekking at one of the local centres or perhaps hire a mountain bike - they can be delivered to your door. The owners of the farm are very friendly and are happy for visitors to explore whilst observing the countryside code. Brecon is just 2.5 miles away and has plenty of shops and restaurants, whilst the area as a whole offers a never-ending list of great days out and places to visit.

For anyone enjoying a game of golf - it is only about 600 yards down the lane to Cradoc Golf Club - a golf club with the most amazing views.

The cottages as Dan-y-Crug can sleep up to 10 in 4 bedrooms and provide a homely and comfortable base, ideal for a group holiday or for a larger, or extended family holiday. Buttercup Granary and Cowslip Cottage are all part of a lovely barn conversion at Dan-y-Crug Farm.

Homely self-catering accommodation

Buttercup Granary is reached up an iron staircase, the original granary steps became unsafe and so the living accommodation is all at this first floor level.

There is a kitchen/sitting room with an electric cooker, hob, microwave, fridge and ample work and storage space. There is a comfortable sofa and chairs and a dining table and chairs for meals. The living room also has a TV with video player. There are laundry facilities in an adjacent building, shared with the other two cottages.

The two bedrooms feature exposed beams,

Bedroom 1: Double bedroom

Bedroom 2: A twin room.

The shower room: has a toilet, handbasin and shower.

Buttercup Granary

Buttercup Granary is part of a converted 17th century wing to the farmhouse and all the accommodation can be reached via the wide exterior steps to the entrance. The property enjoys character features such as exposed beams and boasts two bedrooms capable of sleeping 4 and a cot if required.

Quiet farm location

The location of these cottages is very pretty. Buttercup is part of a converted wing of the 17th century farmhouse and Cowslip Cottage is a converted barn positioned alongside. There is a large grassed area around the cottages which runs down to a stream. The properties are surrounded by farmland and visitors should chat to the owners to check on livestock locations etc before heading out to explore the farm.

Flexible accommodation for up to 14 people

Another significant bonus of these cottages is the flexibility. Two cottages sleep 4 people, with the third accommodating a further 6. This makes Buttercup, Daisy Byre and Cowslip Cottage the ideal choice for a holiday with the family or with friends. Cowslip Cottage and Daisy Byre can accommodate 6 and 4 visitors respectively and Cowslip Cottage is very convenient for visitors with slight walking difficulties as there are no steps and the patio area and approach are level. Both cottages are also available to book through us.

One of Wales' premier golf clubs

If you enjoy a round of golf then Cradoc Golf Course, just up the lane is a must. Named Wales' Golf Club of the Year in 2005 the course is an 18-hole parkland course and takes advantage of the rolling Mid Wales hills. There is a welcoming club house serving good food and the views from the course must be some of the best in Wales.

Brecon - the heart of the Beacons

Travel the 2.5 miles and explore the bustling market town of Brecon. There is the picturesque canal, alongside which sits the acclaimed Theatr Brycheiniog providing a theatre auditorium which plays hosts to many well-known acts, an art gallery and renowned restaurant with terrace. A ten minute walk from the canal brings you to the centre of Brecon with it's mixture of well-known shops and small boutiques and gift shops. There are plenty of cafes, restaurant and pubs to discover and a small cinema.
