'Asleep in Hay' is a stylish, comfortable and contemporary three bedroomed self-catering apartment beautifully combining the old with the new. Set above one of the most interesting and well established bookshops in the centre of the picturesque town of Hay-on-Wye in the Welsh Marches. The apartment nestles under the ancient walls of Hay Castles and has lovely views over the town and across the Wye Valley to Clyro.

Walk up a flight of beautiful wide 16th century oak stairs, polished black with age, to the first floor where there are three bedrooms.

Master Bedroom: A spacious bedroom with old oak floors, a comfy new king sized bed with fresh linen. French windows lead out on to a small balcony.

Bedroom 2: A bedroom with twin beds, oak beams and lovely oak floors.

Bedroom 3: A second bedroom with twin beds, oak floors and beams.

The family bathroom: Spacious and light with a bath and a shower over it, hand basin and a toilet.

To a wonderful very large and spacious living area with an open plan kitchen - great for all sharing the cooking and being able to chat! The ancient walls and turrets of neighbouring Hay Castle are clearly visible through a huge velux window.

The kitchen itself is very well equipped with an electric cooker with gas hob, microwave, fridge and a separate freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and toaster. A long dining table and chairs to comfortably seat everyone. There are soft chocolate brown leather sofas set around the efficient "gas" wood effect burning stove, giving this impressive large room a comfortable and warm feel complimented by the oak floors, oak beams and casement windows overlooking the roof tops of Hay-on-Wye and The Wye Valley beyond.

Accessed through a private entrance by the Addymans Bookshop this lovely and perfectly located holiday apartment is ideal for visitors wishing to enjoy all the attractions of Hay-on-Wye. Wander the narrow lanes and savour the wealth of many different places to eat and drink; enjoy a leisurely coffee whist browsing a recently purchased and perhaps much sought after book from one of the thirty independent second hand bookshops. Do not miss The Richard Booth Cafe tucked away behind the bookshop or also "not to be missed" Shepherds Ice Cream Parlour where they have a wonderful selection of home-made ice creams.

Visitors to Hay-on-Wye are spoilt for choice with the wide variety of unique and interesting shops, there are several galleries, numerous antique shops and a covered antique market, some excellent boutiques and clothes shops and many more. Try the local butchers or the traditional bakers - difficult to walk past with the smell of fresh bread wafting down the street.

For visitors to Hay there are a range of walks down to The River Wye for a picnic or to the "beach" where local children swim and play called The Warren. Hire mountain bikes from Drovers Bikes in Hay-on-Wye or Canoes for trip down the River Wye from Wye Valley Canoes in Glasbury and do not forget to visit the excellent The River Cafe whilst you are there - where you can also hire canoes, mountain bikes and even Vespa Scooter but always remember to book if you plan an evening visit.

There are the classic walks and drives from Hay-on-Wye through The Black Mountains, over The Gospel Pass and on to the amazing Llantony Priory and Abbey. The road then leads on down to Abergavenny and beyond. Stop on Hay Bluff to watch the hang gliders and the wandering mountain sheep and wild mountain ponies. Explore the Golden Valley or visit Hereford with its Cathedral and The Mappa Mundi.

Brecon is only a half hour drive, with Brecon Cathedral, The Heritage Centre and from there of course, all The Brecon Beacons and Black Mountain National Park to explore.
