Denbigh Hall, Presteigne

Herefordshire. Sleeps up to 6

Presteigne 4.1 miles. Denbigh Hall is a detached, character cottage settled in Stansbatch near Presteigne, Herefordshire. Constructed 300 years ago and enjoying easy access to a walking trail, Denbigh Hall is the perfect countryside retreat for a family of six. After parking in one of the two handy off-road parking spaces, make your way inside the house to be welcomed by a well-presented kitchen, a space sporting colourful tiling, a good selection of appliances, along with dual-aspect windows that give the space a light and airy feel. When the budding chef has cooked up a storm in the kitchen, set the table in the close-by dining room, a rustic space enjoying exposed stonework, that makes for a fabulous socialising and dining spot. After enjoying an indulgent meal, progress to the sitting room, where you can stretch out on the sofas under exposed beams and in front of the toasty woodburning stove and TV. Completing the ground floor is a utility room housing a handy washer/dryer, as well as a contemporary shower room, enjoying marble tiling throughout and a glass cubicle. When day turns to night, climb the wooden staircase to find three thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms, where you can tuck the little ones up in the charming twin, before resting in a double with a stylish, iron bed frame and access to a fabulous en-suite bathroom, where you can choose to soak up in a roll-top bath or rinse off in the glass, walk-in shower; further along you can find another, welcoming double. The garden is definitely a highlight of the property, featuring a spacious lawn that is home to a hammock for you to savour an afternoon nap on, before relishing a spot of alfresco dining or simply enjoying a book on the patio; the space also boasts stunning views of the countryside, so be sure to make the most of it! You can wander to Titley to find the delightful pub of The Stagg Inn, or continue to Presteigne, where all of your amenities rest in one setting, including a range of pubs, eateries and shops; Presteigne is also home to the fascinating Judge's Lodging and enjoys access to the vast Nash Wood, where you can cycle or walk to your heart's content. For a day out with a difference, travel to Leopminster, where you can enjoy a tour of the Leominster Museum, stop for a bite to eat at The White Lion Inn, before venturing a little further afield to the breathtaking, 15th century Hampton Court Castle for an idyllic afternoon outing. Hay-on-Wye is a scenic drive away and is home to the fantastic Hay Castle, the delightful outdoor space of The Warren, and a weekly market where you can pick up local wares. For more fun in Herefordshire, be sure to visit Ludlow and Hereford where plenty of activities are waiting to be partaken in, or wander north to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a day immersed in the outdoors. For a rural escape in a quaint retreat, choose Denbigh Hall.
