Nantymynydd is a very pretty cottage nestled at the end of Aber Village, a small hamlet near Talybont on Usk. Sit in the warm and welcoming sunny conservatory and enjoy the lovely views over the fields usually dotted with peacefully grazing sheep and up to the gentle slopes of Tor-y-Foel mountain. This little cottage has lots to offer, it is filled with character and is in a great location for those who wish to walk or cycle round this part of the central National Park. A bird-watcher's paradise, with "bird hides" just minutes up the road on the massive Talybont Reservoir to watch the many rare and unusual visiting birds. Further up the road at the head of the reservoir are the beautiful Blaen-y-glyn waterfalls with a couple of short circular walks. Staying in Nantymyndd there is plenty to keep everyone happy without having to travel very far, add to this easy access to Brecon and Cardiff and visitors will be spoilt for choice. Those holidaying with friends or extended family should note that there are several other cottages available for holidays in the same hamlet.

Kitchen: There is a well equipped pretty country style kitchen with an electric cooker with double oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge and a small freezer with two shelves.

An entrance porch with a store of logs, the spacious hallway with flag stone floor is great for leaving coats and boots.

A downstairs cloakroom with a washer/dryer and a toilet and handbasin.

The large, sunny conservatory is reached from the kitchen and is a great eating space with a long dining table and chairs.

The sitting room has 2 sofas and a chair and a Victorian fireplace with a good supply of logs for the fire. There is TV with Freeview and DVD player and a CD player.

Bedroom 2: twin bedroom with 2ft 6" beds.

The family bathroom has a bath, toilet and handbasin.

A stylish character cottage

A very pretty semi-detached cottage, Nantymynydd retains some beautiful original features. The traditional stone floors and exposed oak beams are very attractive and the cosy open fire is welcoming. Nant-y-Mynydd has a useful sunny conservatory with views over open fields and access to a cottage garden with patio. The cottage sleeps 4 in two bedrooms and enjoys wonderful views of Tor-y-Foel mountain.

Fantastic walks and cycle routes from your door

Nantymynydd is a perfect location for a break. Located within a quiet hamlet in a stunning location, it's ideal for visitors bringing a dog with easy access onto the Brecon Beacons. The Taff Trail cycle route and The Henry Vaughan Walk along the old Brynoyre railway track. This means that there is literally miles of uninterrupted walking straight from the door and plenty of excellent cycle trails.

Numerous places to visit

The Blaen-y-Glyn waterfalls are a few minutes drive from Nantymynydd and are well worth a visit, and the picturesque Talybont Reservoir with a dramatic dam, that is open to walk across, is very popular with bird watchers. Many species of resident and migratory birds can be seen here, with bird hides around the reservoir shore.

From Nantymynydd there is a very quick and easy route (not in the depths of winter) over the hills to Merthyr Tydfil (20 minutes) and Cardiff (40 minutes) for anyone who needs to be there for family or business or to enjoy Cardiff Castle, the rugby at the Millennium Stadium or the Millennium Centre for the Arts. This is a very scenic drive and takes you up right over the Brecon Beacons and down past the Brecon Mountain Railway - so loved by railway enthusiasts young and old.
