Well Cottage - Well Cottage was formally a barn within the original farmyard at Blaenau Mawr. Now its been transformed into a comfortable and attractive cottage which can sleep up to 4 people. The restored oak beams throughout, oak floors and numerous exposed stone walls retain the character of the original barn. The ground floor has a cosy sitting room and a spacious dining room which features a steep spiral stairs leading up to a double and a twin bedroom with a family bathroom. Well Cottage also boasts a private patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ for long summer evenings soaking up the last of the sun and admiring the views and wildlife.

Flexible accommodation for up to 16 people - A significant bonus of cottages at Blaenau Mawr is the flexibility. One cottage sleeps 4 people, a further converted barn sleeps 5, with the old farmhouse accommodating a further 7. This makes the cottages at Blaenau Mawr the ideal choice for a holiday with the family or with friends. Dew Cottage and Neuadd Fach can accommodate 5 visitors and 7 visitors respectively - both are also available to book through us.

Enjoy a quintessential Welsh village pub - Just an easy 15-minute stroll down the hill from Well Cottage is the Farmers Arms pub in Cwmdu. A family run pub with a restaurant area, it offers a wide range of tasty meals from simple baguettes to prime Welsh steaks. Pop in for a bit of banter with the locals and a tasty home-cooked meal made with local produce. The uphill walk home helps make a meal at this friendly local a guilt-free pleasure

Discover Tretower - 3 miles up the road is Tretower Court and Castle. The castle is a classic moat and bailey example dating from 1150 with additions made in the 13th century. Tretower Court was recently refurbished and re-opened to the public and is thought to originally date from the 14th century and still boasts many fantastic examples of timberwork from that era as well as a delightful reconstructed 15th century garden. A trip to Tretower is a fantastic window into medieval life in the area.

Cwmdu (with village pub) 1.5 mile, Crickhowell 6 miles, Abergavenny 12 miles.
