The Space:

The Balone Garden Cottage is a luxury retreat with spectacular views over the St Andrews countryside and a wood burning stove. The cottage has been finished to the highest standard and comfortable sleeps 2 in a double bedroom with access to the patio via the French doors. The open-plan kitchen lounge is peaceful whether the bifold doors are open to the fresh air or cosy with the wood burner. Property features a Dyson Purifier which purifies, humidifies and cools the bedroom in the cottage. The property has it's own entrance on the ground floor and free parking for one car at the end of the driveway. The accommodation layouts are as follows:
Ground Floor - 1 double bedroom with luxury mattress and with full wardrobe. Perfect for guests with mobility requirements. The bathroom has a large walk in shower with a Lusso hand wash basin, a wall hung WC and a delightful Spanish caustic tile floor. Whilst there is no garden available with the cottage, there is an enclosed patio garden via the French doors in the bedroom or via the bifold doors in the lounge. The kitchen has a dishwasher, a fridge, a Smeg ceramic 2 ring hob, and a high spec oven/microwave. There is no washing machine available for guest use. In the lounge, there is a small dining table with a Smart TV and logs are provided for the wood burner. 


The Neighbourhood:
St Andrews is home to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club and the famous Old Course. Its amenities include Scotland's oldest university, founded in 1413, beautiful award winning beaches, historic buildings, including the ruins of the cathedral, castle and St Rule's Tower and a wide variety of specialist shops and restaurants. Renowned worldwide as "the home of golf” St Andrews has seven world-class links courses and others in the area include The Dukes, Kingsbarns and the Fairmont St Andrews complex. Within 15 minutes drive you have an absolute wealth of beauty with the East Neuk of Fife and its picturesque towns and villages, including Crail, Elie, Kingsbarns and many more. This is a 5 Mins drive to the town centre and 10 mins to the Links golf courses. The owners live in the adjacent accommodation so don't be frightened if you bump into them when departing/arriving.

Getting Around:
Balone Garden Cottage is situated 2 miles out of town, although it is walkable we do recommend using a car or bicycle as there is no direct footpath for the first 10minute walk.
Guest access:
Guests will have full access to the entire property. No rooms will be off limits and all contents within the house are there for our guests use including wifi, the TV and the cooking implements.
Pre Arrival:
When the booking is confirmed you will receive instructions via a web link with all the necessary information to check yourself in at your leisure from 4pm. If early check in has been purchased check in will be from 3pm. Please note that access is not permitted to the property before this time, and we cannot store any luggage prior to check in.
Check in is via a secure key box for which you will be provided the code prior to arrival.
During Your Stay:
We are happy to communicate with all guests as much as necessary, but will otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay.
