The Cart Lodge, Great Massingham

Norfolk. Sleeps up to 4

This superb holiday property has seen extensive refurbishment for the comfort and convenience of guests, but it hasn't lost any of its classic country charm. Located in the most beautiful of settings, the grounds are a delight and you will have the opportunity to meet the owner's alpacas, a treat for children and adults alike; there may even be the opportunity to walk and feed the alpacas! The living space is open plan, with full height ceilings, exposed trusses and a large picture window at one end making the space feel light and airy. The under floor heating ensures that you are cosy in the colder months and the tasteful furnishings and quality linens lend a feeling of luxury to the experience.

Situated on the other side of the courtyard from The Dairy, both cottages could be booked together giving two families the opportunity to holiday together whilst still retaining their own personal space.

The Peddars Walk pathway is close by and you can enjoy walks into Great Massingham (approx three quarters of a mile) where you will find one of Norfolk’s prettiest villages with two large central ponds and the popular Dabbling Duck gastro pub which the younger Royal's often frequent. The Cart Lodge and The Dairy are part of West Heath Barns and situated in grounds of 4.5 acres so there is plenty of tranquil rural space where you can spend time recharging your batteries and enjoying the peaceful setting!

A one hour complimentary Alpacca walk is included for guests staying at The Cart Lodge.

Great Massingham is one of Norfolk's most attractive villages and has one of the most photographed village greens in the county. Several large ponds dominate the village; some of which have their origins as the fish ponds for an 11th century Augustinian Abbey. In 2009 the village won a CPRE Community Open Spaces award and in both 2009 & 2010 an ‘EDP Pride in Norfolk’ award for villages with a population under 1000. The beautiful North Norfolk coast is just a 20 minute drive away. The village has a thriving community with a shop and also pub called The Dabbling Duck that has an excellent bar and restaurant and of course you are close to Sandringham, HM The Queen's country residence.

Accommodation Open Plan Sitting Room/Kitchen/Diner The main living space is open plan, with exposed trusses and full height ceiling. There is a large picture window in the sitting room area and two leather sofas, a flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD/Radio/USB Music Player, coffee table, lamps and bookcase with a selection of books and games. The dining area comprises a table, four chairs and dresser. The kitchen area has work surfaces on three sides, both wall and under counter cupboard space, a sink with drainer, dishwasher, washer/drier, microwave, kettle, toaster and larder style fridge freezer.
