The Shank, Gt Yarmouth

Norfolk. Sleeps up to 4

The Gold award winning Shank nestles amongst the fairways of the 400-acre Caldecott Hall Golf Club & Country Estate, on the south eastern fringes of the beautifully unique Norfolk Broads National Park. It is part of the Fairway Lakes Village Scandianavian wooden lodge development, overlooking the 11th fairway. Relax in the hot tub while enjoying the impressive views of the golf course and the historic Waveney Forest. There are two 18-hole golf courses and a 20 berth driving range, with lessons available. The clubhouse is a spectacular Norfolk barn conversion. The original manor house is a three star hotel, bar and restaurant. The Barnworks Fitness Studio and Spa (with heated swimming pool) has a wide range of facilities available including pamper sessions. During the summer, the Hall hosts external events and music may be heard into the late evening. The lakes are well-stocked, and fishing is permitted on request. For the animal lover, adopt a horse at the on-site Redwings Horse Sanctuary. Over the road are the stunning Tudor-Jacobean Somerleyton Hall and Fritton Lake Estate, with gardens, mazes, lakes and boating. The cathedral city of Norwich is 20 miles, whilst traditional seaside fun can be had at Great Yarmouth, 5 miles. Both the Norfolk and Suffolk Heritage Coasts deserve a day trip. Beccles & Bungay are quaint market towns. The Shank is an environmentally friendly lodge, rainwater harvesting, grey water recycled, triple glazing throughout with thermostats in all rooms and recycling and composting is much encouraged. There is a village delicatessen in Bradwell - 2 miles (voted best East Anglian Butcher in 2011). Use of all club facilities available at concessionary rates.
