Further walks can be enjoy within the area, including the nature reserve of Handa Island where puffins can be seen in the hundreds, alternatively, head further afield to immerse yourself in the local history by visiting Smoo Cave, a cave complex dating back some 5000 years in Durness, which is also home to a golf course and further beaches. Also, for th geologically inclined, the Bone Caves near Inchnadamph in Assynt are a must-visit as well as the Inchnadamph nature reserve.
