A luxurious and newly renovated "Five Star", 330 year old traditional, Welsh stone cottage. The cottage comfortably sleeps four guests in two bedrooms both with king size beds and set in the pretty little hamlet of Trecastle in the heart of The Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales within a minute's walk of the village pub. On arrival guests are welcomed with a very generous hamper with Welsh cheeses, wine and Welsh cakes.

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore The Brecon Beacons and perhaps drive up to Mid Wales or over to the West and South Wales coastal areas.

Sleeps 4 - 2 Bedrooms

A very thoughtfully and well equipped new kitchen with an electric fan cooker and ceramic hob, a dishwasher, fridge and a freezer, microwave -plenty of storage and work surfaces and you will find the essentials in the cupboard. There is also a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

The dining room has oak beams and an oak dining table and chairs with an electric stove.

The sitting room has an oak dresser large new and very comfortable sofas and chairs set around an efficient wood burning stove with a good supply of logs.

The cottage has a large Smart TV with over 200 full Sky Package channels (with Sports & Movies), Blue-ray DVD and a wide choice of DVD's to watch. There is excellent WIFI here enabling WIFI calling.

Upstairs

Bathroom with an excellent power shower over the bath, hand basin and toilet.

Bedroom 1: A super king bed (zip and link - or if you prefer can be made into twin beds). Digital TV and a DVD.

Bedroom 2: A bedroom with a King size bed. Digital TV and a DVD.

Step outside the kitchen door into a pretty little enclosed sunny terraced garden with decking and pretty tubs of flowers. The perfect place for a cup of coffee in the morning or a nice chilled glass of wine in the evening.

Trecastle has a local pub The Castle Coaching Inn and an Antique Centre just a few minutes stroll from the cottage - one of those places that you can find all kinds of hidden surprises. From Trecastle it is a three minute drive to Sennybridge (the nearest shops) and a twenty minute drive to both Brecon and Llandovery.

Follow the lane running past the cottage and visit the inspiring "Water Fall Country" and some really stunning walks.

A great place to stay if you are exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park - easy to reach Dan-yr-Ogof Caves and there are plenty of wild and little visited places to walk and you will be spoilt for scenic drives to enjoy. If you want to travel south down towards Swansea and the Welsh Valley towns this is a good base.

Trecastle is a scattered hamlet along the A.40 between Brecon and Llandovery - the name means "Town of the Castle" - as you drive through the village you can see the ancient mount now covered in trees that is the 12th century "Motte and Bailey" fortification and the largest of its' type in The Brecon Beacons National Park. Trecastle is very much a sheep farming community with miles of open hill side and little winding lanes.

With Trout Fishing on The Usk Reservoir - only a few miles from the source of the River Usk and is considered as one of the best still water fisheries in Wales with fly fishing, spinning and worm fishing all permitted. This is a beautiful large reservoir of over 280 acres set amongst forest and moorland. Tickets from: www.wyeuskfoundation.org
