Full of character with a welcoming wood burner for those cosy winter evenings in front of the fire, it really is what you expect a Yorkshire cottage to be. The owner has refurbished the property to a very good standard to make a delightful holiday home in which to visit the local areas and enjoy the wonderful walks right from your doorstep. The property is also popular with cyclists as the area has been used in various prestigious cycling events. There are two bedrooms, a double and a king with a modern Jack and Jill bathroom. The living room leads into the well-equipped kitchen where you have access to an enclosed courtyard area to the rear. There is also a small sitting-out area to the front, overlooking the village green.

The village stands in the stunning countryside of Nidderdale and a short drive from the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It has a good local shop as well as an excellent local pub that serves great food. There is a very popular coffee shop/restaurant a few yards away which has a good menu, and is also under the same ownership as the cottage. Try some of the home made cakes that are a favourite with the tourists and locals alike.

The spa town of Harrogate is only 4 miles away with its famous Betty’s Café Tea Rooms and stylish restaurants along with excellent shopping. There are the beautiful Valley Gardens and Montpellier Gardens to enjoy as well as the Harrogate Stray, over 200 acres of parkland that can be enjoyed by all visitors to the town. Knaresborough and Ripon are also just a short drive from the cottage and worth a visit.

Sophie’s Cottage makes a cosy retreat in this beautiful Yorkshire village, yet everything is close by including a bus stop on a main bus route. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
