If only we had been in olden times, your neighbour would have been the famous Mary Queen of Scot’s, as the building next door is a former retreat of the well-known Scottish monarch and the gardens and visitor centre are certainly worth a visit.

Entering this property, which would suit a small family or group, the modern presentation and convenience provide a great base to spend a few days exploring or just relaxing in each other’s company. The tasteful décor and good standard of furnishings in this two bedroom, second floor apartment would comfortably sleep three adults, with a sofa bed in the living room providing additional sleeping. The property was updated in summer 2019 by the owners and includes a new shower room.

To be honest, you’ll likely spend most of the time looking at the view over the neighbouring gardens or be out exploring the castle and the old jail, or even stunning Jedburgh Abbey. Whatever your reason for visiting, this exciting town in the Scottish Borders will be a great place to rest your head and yourself for as long as you need.

The town has more to it than you would think. Just take a walk and get lost in the history, go for coffee in one of the local coffee shops or a drink in one of the pubs or bars and chat to the locals to get their take on what to see and do. Not only will you probably learn something the guide books won’t tell you, but you’ll probably enjoy yourself too!
