AYTON Ayton Castle dominates the town, and is built around a peel tower, it was built in the 1850s in the Scottish Baronial style in red sandstone, and is well worth visiting and walking around the lovely grounds. Around 7 miles away is the coastal town of Berwick upon tweed. BERWICK UPON TWEED Berwick-upon-Tweed the mouth of the River Tweed known for Salmon fishing and its fortress walls. With sandy beaches and beautiful riverside and fortress wall walks on offer, wander around one of the lovely parks or browse the Berwick Museum & Art Gallery for the afternoon and visit the High Street for some shopping. Alternatively visit the Maltings for the cinema, theatre and café. Lots of great eating places in Berwick upon Tweed with a train station too.
