Charming 18th Century Cottage in the beautiful Welsh Countryside, Carmarthen

Penrhiw Cottage is a 300-year-old wisteria covered holiday cottage located in the secluded Welsh countryside and in easy reach of Carmarthen in West Wales. Based at the top of a valley overlooking the Carmarthen countryside this cottage has all the mod cons to make your stay warm and comfortable.

Rooms are professionally cleaned and beds are made up with high thread count sheets. There are three separate bedrooms all with double beds. Towels and additional linens are supplied.

There is a bathroom with a bath upstairs and a shower room downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and a basket of goodies is offered on arrival.

The Garden is quiet, private and full of wild birds. In the summer months, it is a wonderful place to eat alfresco and while away the evening with a glass of wine.

The house is situated within an easy drive to many of the beautiful beaches, forests and seaside towns. Your hosts are more than happy to advise you on the best places to go and also suggest leaving your car at the cottage and taking some of the local forest walks.

Access to the farm can be arranged with prior notice. There are acres of beautiful woodland and meadow walks around the farm and a range of animals to visit including sheep, goats, pigs and lots of fowl.

River Tywi (30 mins away) Renowned for fishing. One of the great sewin (sea trout) rivers, the Tywi also has brown trout and salmon. It also contains shad.

Locally there are miles of local river and woodland walks on the doorstep.

Getting around
Parking on-site at the cottage and Carmarthen train station is 25 mins away. There are multiple Taxi companies in Carmarthen who can pick you up and drop you at the cottage.

Located in Carmarthen, this cottage is in a rural area and by the sea. Carmarthen Castle and Laugharne Castle are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at West Wales Museum of Childhood and Celtic Country Wines - Celteg. Pantglas World of Nature and Teifi Valley Railway Limited are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
