The Barn, Snitterby

Lincolnshire. Sleeps up to 3

The Barn is a former potato chitting barn, potatoes being a major crop in Lincolnshire. It was for some time used as a garage, before being converted into a cottage. The original beams are retained, and double height in the lounge and bedrooms creates a feeling of spaciousness. There is an enclosed lawned garden, with plenty of walks suitable for dogs from the property and in the local area. The owners of The Barn have recently redecorated, added new carpets to both bedrooms, new beds, new lounge furniture, and a luxurious shower room. Brigg has a selection of supermarkets and independent shops and eating places, as well as a leisure centre and pool. Five miles away is Hemswell Cliff, a former RAF base now home to the largest collection of antique dealers in Europe. (oh which Johnny Depp has also visited). There are numerous historical RAF sites within the local area. Numerous animal parks within the local area. At Market Rasen there's horse racing and Willingham Woods, ideal for walking. Skydiving at Hibaldstow. Lincoln offers interesting architecture, not just the cathedral, plus various shopping and eating places. The Lincolnshire Wolds, a site of outstanding natural beauty, features many walks to enjoy amid the splendid scenery. The nearest seaside, Cleethorpes, is about forty minutes drive away. It offers extensive promenade walks. South of Cleethorpes are little unspoilt creeks and hidden beaches. In October and November, at Donna Nook beach, seals come ashore to give birth to their pups. The picturesque Georgian town of Louth features lots of independent shops and cafes. The attractive town of Barton-on-Humber offers extensive dog walking on the banks of the Humber. Plus numerous cafes including at The Ropewalk Gallery and the Waterside Nature Reserve. Over the Humber bridge is Hull, with several shopping centres and The Deep aquarium. .Whatever you decide, this is a charming location to accompany your peaceful getaway.
