This delightful cottage offers three holidays in one, being perfectly located to explore the Yorkshire Dales, Trough of Bowland and the Lake District National Park.. Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: With wood burner, Smart TV with Netflix, DVD player, bluetooth speaker, selection of books and games, and wooden floor.
Kitchen: With gas wood burner, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and quarry tiled floor.

Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed.
Bedroom 2: With twin beds.
Bathroom: With shower over Jacuzzi bath, and toilet.. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request. Welcome pack and doggy extras.. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. Bike store. On road parking. No smoking. Please note: There are 4 steps in the garden and a cobbled slope to the front of the property.. Dating back to the 1800s, this spacious terraced cottage, built for the village’s silk workers, is full of charm and character with exposed beams and stone walls. On the ground floor, there is a welcoming living room and dining area with wooden floor, a window seat, and a fireplace with a wood burner. There are comfortable leather sofas and plenty of books and games. The kitchen features a quarry tiled floor, exposed beams and a feature stone wall with built-in window seat. There is a fully-fitted kitchen, new for 2018, with Shaker-style units, solid wood worktops and another table by the window, perfect for breakfast. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need from a cafetière to a rolling pin and all mod cons including a dishwasher, microwave and freezer. To keep it all cosy there is a fire place with gas woodburner for instant heat and a plinth heater for toasty toes. Upstairs are two comfortable, good-sized bedrooms, one with exposed stone work, and a family bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi bath. Outside, to the rear of the property is a patio area with seating for al fresco dining. There is also a fully enclosed, pretty cottage garden accessed by four steps with a patio area and bench seat, perfect for bat watching in the evenings or enjoying the sun with a coffee first thing.
The cottage occupies a great position within the lovely village of Low Bentham, which has a 15th-century church, two great pubs with open fires, both of which serve excellent food, and a children’s play area a stone’s throw from the cottage. A wider range of amenities can be found in the market town of High Bentham just 1 mile away, including a post office, shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants.
Low Bentham is just 5 miles from the Yorkshire Dales National Park, less than half an hour to the Lake District National Park and minutes from the Trough of Bowland. On the doorstep are beautiful riverside walks, where a mile’s meandering will bring you to Bentham in time to buy freshly-baked croissants from the bakery. Silk Cottage is idyllic for those who want to enjoy the great outdoors, offering easy reach to Yorkshire’s Three Peaks, as well as a multitude of walks to suit every ability. It is also perfect cycling country, and the cottage has a bike store for anybody wishing to bring their bikes along for the break. You can certainly get your adrenaline fix in the local area. Climbing is one of the the most popular pastimes in the Yorkshire Dales, attracting passionate climbers from across the UK. There are lots of great climbing options nearby.

The popular village of Ingleton, which is just 4 miles away, is well known for its caves and waterfalls, climbing wall and open-air swimming pool. Being close to the border of Cumbria, Silk Cottage is also very well located for exploring the Lake District. Kendal can be reached in around half an hour by car and Windermere in 45 minutes. For the bright lights of the city, visit Lancaster, just half an hour away, or enjoy historic Skipton with its medieval castle, which is just 45 minutes away. For street markets pop to Settle, just 12 miles further into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, or for a paddle in the sea, Morecambe is just half an hour away. For serious retail therapy, visit Kirkby Lonsdale, just 8 miles from Silk Cottage, where 99% of the shops are independent retailers offering everything you could wish for. There’s even a chocolate mine! Beach 14 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub 175 yards and restaurant 20 yards.
