A smart kitchen is positioned to the rear of the ground floor, and there is also a spacious utility area and shower room. There are three bedrooms (a kingsize, twin and a small single room) and a bathroom situated on the first floor. Perfect for your four-legged friends who stay for free, the owner provides dog beds, blankets, towels, treats, food and water bowls.
There is a wide array of amenities in Alnwick, including a cinema/playhouse, restaurants, independent shops and a variety of pubs. Barter Books, one of England’s largest second hand book shops and the town centre, are both just 5 minutes’ walk away.
Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts), is a popular visitor attraction, or visit Alnwick Gardens, 1 mile from Bridge House; a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden. Visitors can also dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe.
Bridge House is an excellent choice for those seeking a homely base that gives easy access to explore the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Northumberland’s Heritage Coast to the east, which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west. Beach 4 miles. Shop 20 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
