The oldest part of the property, dating back to the late 15th century, is Crispin Cottage. Attached to the owners’ home, this east wing has a wealth of oak panelling, beams and other period features. The Stables forms the majority part of a converted Victorian coach house and is located opposite the farmhouse. The local woodland has an abundance of wildlife and offers some wonderful country walks literally on the doorstep. The historic town of Colyton, with the River Coly flowing through it, is a mile or so away. It has a variety of local shops, tea rooms and pubs, all offering good food. Nearby attractions include Seaton’s Tramway, the fishing village of Beer and its famous caves, the beach at Branscombe, the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth and Crealy Adventure Park a little further towards Exeter. The city is just over 20 miles away. River Cottage HQ and its cafe in Axminster are both only 6 miles away, as is the seaside resort of Lyme Regis with its famous Cobb harbour. It has an area of sandy beach and offers a variety of water sports, as well as a large number of restaurants, tea rooms, pubs and exclusive gift shops. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
